Research Universal Orlando Early Park Admission Beforehand
Make sure to look up what parks and rides are eligible for Universal Orlando early park admission before you visit, or you can have your travel agent help you with that. They tend to vary depending on a lot of different factors, and with Epic Universe opening in 2025, we’re not completely sure yet if it will be included with early entry, and if so, what rides are going to be included.
Sometimes, certain rides have to close, so it’s good to have a backup plan and know which rides are all going to be open for early entry. Early entry to Epic Universe will be especially great if you’re staying at the Helios Grand Hotel, which is attached to the park.
Plan On Leaving Your Hotel Early
Even if you’re staying on property, people start to line up for Universal Orlando early park admission pretty early. I recommend trying to plan on leaving your hotel an hour before early entry gates open. There are a few reasons for this: you don’t know how long the line is going to be for the resort transportation, and you also don’t know how long the line is going to be once you get to the park itself. You don’t want to get to the park for early entry and then be stuck in a huge, long line that goes all the way down through CityWalk.
If you get there early enough, you can walk through CityWalk and see if there are any restaurants open to grab a bite to eat or grab a coffee. The Universal hotels also have a Starbucks or a grab-and-go eatery on site.
Have Tickets And Hotel Keys Ready To Go
You’ve been waiting in line for a while. More than likely, you want to be able to get in the park as quickly as possible, as there are going to be a lot of people probably making a rush to the same rides that you want to ride. If you’ve been standing there for a while, you’ve had plenty of time to bring up your tickets on your phone or get them organized in your hands. Don’t be that person who gets to the front of the line and then fumbles around with their tickets, having no idea where they placed them.
Don’t forget to have your room key ready as well if you’re staying at a Universal Orlando Resort hotel, as the employees will verify you can enter the park early with that perk.
Never Run
Walk, do not run, to your first ride. Running is very dangerous. There’s going to be a lot of people. Everybody is probably going to be heading to the same place, so running is going to make things a lot more chaotic and unsafe.
Treat Employees Respectfully
Respect all the Universal Orlando employees. There’s going to be a few checkpoints where they check for your tickets. They’ll check your hotel room key. They’re going to check a few things to make sure that you can be in the park for Universal Orlando early park admission. Be respectful and have everything ready to show them.
It’s early. They’re probably not super thrilled about having to be there super early either, so just be patient and be as kind as possible. If they ask you any clarifying questions, answer them calmly. Do not get upset and irate with them.
If Available, Head to Epic Universe First
When Epic Universe opens in 2025, if it ends up having Universal Orlando early park admission, I would probably recommend hitting that park up in those rides first. It’s going to be the newest theme park in the world and one that’s very highly anticipated. The lines for a lot of these attractions the first few years the park is open are going to be very long. Take advantage of early theme park entry as much as possible when it comes to Epic Universe.
They haven’t announced what rides are going to be available or even if Epic Universe is going to be included in Universal Orlando early park admission, but if it is, be sure to take advantage of it, especially if you’re staying at one of the hotels around Epic Universe.
If Epic Universe Isn’t Open, Go to Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure First
As of right now, if one of the early rides is Hagrid‘s, I highly recommend hitting that ride up first. It’s currently one of the only major rides on Universal Orlando property that does not have an Express Pass line, and the lines for this tend to get very long. I’ve been at the park when it opens to the general public, and the line has already been an hour and a half long. This is the norm, however, by following these tips, I’ve been able to get in line for Hagrid’s and on the ride in under a half hour.
I will say, though, there’ve been times that I’ve only gotten to early entry about 15 minutes before the gates open, and that time, I still had to wait over an hour for Hagrid’s. So the line tends to get very long very quickly, which is why it’s better to get to the park for early entry as soon as possible as opposed to later.

Have a Backup Plan
We touched on this a bit earlier, but if the ride that you want to ride isn’t open, have a backup. See what other rides are open and know what it is that you want to do if you get to the ride and it isn’t open. You don’t want to be standing there fumbling, having no idea what rides are open or where to go. You want to be able to have an idea of exactly what it is that you want to do next. Time is of the essence. During peak seasons, Universal Orlando early park admission can be even more valuable, as crowds tend to grow larger throughout the day.
The park is usually only open an hour before its opening time to the general public. So, make sure you’re using as much of that time as possible. As I said before, I’ve ridden Hagrid‘s in under a half hour, and I’ve also been able to ride VelociCoaster two or three times before the park even opens to the general public by maximizing my time with Universal Orlando early park admission.
Have Fun!
Remain calm and remember that you’re there to have fun. If the ride is broken down, find another one to ride. If you don’t like that the cast members are asking you about your hotel room key to make sure you’re able to get in, just smile. Show them what you need to show them and move on with your day. Universal Orlando early park admission is a great benefit, but sometimes it can get a little stressful because there are crowds of people all going to one point very early in the morning.
Make sure to remember that you’re there to have fun and that it’s only the first hour of your day. You don’t want to ruin your day by having a bad first impression.
